Mary Kay Solomon of Sunflower Cookery is a modern day Marco Polo in pursuit of the food flavours of the world. Her interest in food began as a seven year old in her mother's kitchen in Kansas City, U.S.A.

Over the past 20 years she has lived and worked in many parts of Asia - China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand,to name just a few. She also spent many years travelling through Mexico.

Mary Kay has completed training at Ballymaloe Cookery School. Today Sunflower Cookery Killeagh, Co. Cork is where Mary Kay puts her energy and passion into action as a caterer, cooking demonstrator and instructor. She is also a farmers' market stall holder where she sells her own product line that reflects her knowledge of food flavours and dedication to quality. From Kansas to Killeagh the Mary Kay Solomon story continues with Sunflower Cookery.

Alternate Monday afternoons on CRY104fm at 2 pm Mary Kay has a cooking segment on Linda O'Regan's show where we taste and discuss different foods. Mary Kay also welcomes questions from listeners of the show.
