LAST OF THE YARNS

Community Radio Youghal broadcast a documentary series. "Last of the Yarns" which was a six part series on the rise and fall of the textile industry in Youghal.

 The series, which was supported by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland Sound & Vision fund, looked at Youghal from before the arrival of the textile industry and examined its impact on the town. The boom years of the industry are also covered in "Last of the Yarns", as well as its lengthy decline and the impact of the closure of the industry on Youghal
