Well I have made it to 11lbs off and am thrilled! What did I do to celebrate…well I went to spinning class followed by a day in the pub with a buddy! Not the best reward in the world, but hey I am only human!
I got to the gym 3 times this week so not a total disaster, but had a craving for chocolate and gave in. I managed to munch 3 mini chocolate santa’s so not holding out much hope to be down this week! No regrets though, I am allowed to cheat, but not to give up! Am really going to go for it this week and the final weigh in is on the 19th December.
I went to a spinning class this week and I really enjoyed it (that surprised even me!). I made the mistake a few months ago of going to an advanced spinning class and to be honest I still have nightmares about it. The class was full of really fit people with headbands (?) and the instructor was roaring at us (I did my best to keep up, but ended up silently weeping at the back feeling like a total failure!), I was red for 3 days afterwards and couldn’t walk for a week! Needless to say I was traumatized for weeks and vowed never to go to another spinning class again.
However, in the spirit of the Christmas Challenge, I decided to give it another go and was delighted I did. Of course I have to add that the last time I went to a spin class, I was not as fit as I am now and this time I have been sensible this time in working up to a spin class. It was great! It was a beginners class and I was the only beginner so Dylan the instructor went a bit easier on me. Of course the other ladies in the class were delighted and this was my Christmas gift to them. Next week I will no longer be a beginner so I assume the class will be a tad more difficult, but I am ready for it! I was so thrilled that I stayed for the toning class and surprised myself by enjoying that aswell! A big thanks to Dylan (sporting a very fetching t shirt that read…sweat is just fat crying!) and to the other ladies in the class who encouraged me to keep going! Am looking forward to Saturday already!
Am not looking forward however, to the weigh in on Thursday. The week was filled with friends, wine, peroini beer and chocolate but I am ready to refocus for the last 2 weeks of the challenge.
I purchased my Christmas frock ( a size down) and am looking forward to wearing it at the Christmas Party!
I have topped the E110.00 mark in sponsorship for the local St. Vincent De Paul society and a big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. To Ardmore Open Farm, Anne Smyth, Ellie Redmond from Movie Junction, Breffini Costelle from Castlemartyr Resort & Spa, Donnacha Riordan, Eugene Crotty, Angela Kearns, Chris Regan and Yvonne Smyth all from CRY104fm. I really appreciate your support!
Tune into CRY104fm tomorrow on the Yawl Ready for this show to see how the weigh in went…..
